Giving my 11yr old some Bren trigger time. (Videos)

Went up to the range to let my 11yr old old son get some more practice this past weekend. We brought a few SMG's, and the Mk II Bren. He put a little over 300 rds through the Bren while working on his trigger/burst control, working to keep them at 2-3 rds at a time, then up to 4-5 rds at a time. He's getting better.

Below, a couple very short videos, apologies for the poor video quality I was having exposure issues.

    Fabulous

He'll be firing from the hip soon then

    So jealous....

My Dad was a Bren Gunner......because he was the smallest in his platoon, and they always made the smallest person carry the heaviest weapon

He loved the Bren, and when I first bought a de-act Mk1M some 20 odd years ago, he was still able to strip it with his eyes closed, some 45 years after he had last done it (well as best he could as it confused the hell out of him first as he couldn't pull the barrel off being a de-act )

It's very important that all 11 year olds can say in years to come '......I've fired a Bren gun.' I made sure that my son did. Not only that, but the favourite of all...., bursts from the waist with a Thompson

Excellent Tom, discipline, safety and to cap it all off - great fun!

A brilliant expereince and learning opportunity for the lad. I hope he gets gun oil in his blood...!
