    Single hole Berdan brass?

Hello to everyone. Newbie here with a question about Berdan primers. I would like to reload some 6.5x53R Dutch ammo. It had a single flash hole, so I thought "no problem, boxer". Ran a couple thru a decap die and they all have the anvil as part of the case, but with a "slot" cut on the top of the anvil. Diameter is about .185. Old primers about .195. While I was looking at the cases, I noticed the RCBS case prep on the end of the bench with a primer pocket uniformer ready to go, and thought hmmm. Any reason not to try it? Is this brass worth anything? New Boxer brass is worth MORE than its weight in gold and
berdan primers are hens teeth. Any help or ideas welcome.
    Thanks, Jim

There is single hole Berdan brass. I've not done it, but others have reported converting Berdan cases to Boxer.
I believe that .303 Britishicon cases can be reformed and trimmed to make 6.5x53R cases.

A large amount of Portuguese .303 was also made with a big pocket, and a huge anvil that had a groove formed across it and a single, small, central flash-hole. This stuff had BRASS primer cups (at least the stuff I've seen), thus it will be a LEAD based primer, not the case-rotting mercuric model. However, I believe the primer diameter is .256" and thus the same size as in a lot of other European ammo, RWS used to sell them, but that was a while ago.
