    Savage No4 MK1* Bolt Markings

    Morning all,

I was strip cleaning my bolt the other day and noticed some markings which I've not seen before; one in particular was on the reverse side of the bolt handle and looks like a number 5? Any ideas?

I believe it is not a number but a block stylized letter "S" for Savage.

I know the Savage S you mean, but this is very different; I'll try to get some pictures tonight as there some other markings I am interesting in knowing more about.
