While waiting to go get the 27-2 (tomorrow), I fixed the ugly cylinder release latch on the 29-5.
    Now she really looks good!

Looks good, I never did get along with the big target grips and changed all mine to Hogue open backstrap grips. I like the round butt too, my 629 has that, I converted my last 29 to round too...helps me get hold when I'm shooting DA...that's how I shoot. I also load down.
    Regards, Jim

I actually feel very comfortable with them.
I have fairly big hands and like to shoot SA mostly.
With good reloads (target loads, easy), they are ok. When shooting full magnum ammo, they just don't absorb anything, so it can get a bit "tiring" after a while.

A photo that shows the M29 still does the business, both one-shot kills, the spiker was a spinal shot at about 150 metres and the chest-shot hind was running through the bush at about 25 metres, dropping about 10 metres after being hit. Elmer Keith's 245 grain SWC load with 22 grains of 2400.

    Here she is.
    Fabulous, perfect, as new.
    Mechanically a dream.
    Trigger? Unbelievable.
I think I might get to like her.
