Gun Safe Rotary Dial: Can't read the dang numbers!! My fix.

So my safe is perfect except for one thing: the numbers are almost impossible to read even with the little Security Safe Light led illuminator over it. That actually made it worse since the dial is shiny chrome and the numbers are shiny black fill.

Ordered a Lacquer Stick in yellow. Sort of like a crayon only it's paint. Peeled off the skin of hardened paint on the end and rubbed it into the numbers using a circular motion.

Found the best thing to wipe it off with is a piece of paper. Cloth or rags tended to dig out some paint from the numbers.

Pics are in low light. Now the numbers really stand out. Looked for fluorescent in a similar product but couldn't find any.

When I put the Security Safe Light back on it makes the yellow painted numbers glow red like they are backlit. Cool!

Pic was taken in the dark.

btw. That little light is cool but it had a wimpy magnet that I replaced with a strong disc magnet. It stays on pretty tight now. Also the led is pinpoint bright. I had to insert a piece of translucent plastic to diffuse the output a bit.
