    Here's a little brain scratcher for you this morning. What is this doo-dad?
    No other information (or even dimensions) except the two pics. A gentleman is trying to trade me some stuff and this is in the lot.

    It's a mainspring compressor vise for a musket. It compresses springs for handling. If you search it on line you'll find how it's used and price.

    Could it be used to move say a sight bed or front sight for POI shift with hook going over the sight and you tighten the screw just my best WAG thanks for the share it looks an interesting piece.
