A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I'm up to four Spanish Civil War firearms now. WZ29. Kar98 frankenrifle, 1916 Mauser and an Astra 400. Odd how many there seems to be around.

Its almost impressive how many there are. Not to mention the Mosin Nagants, and others which were used. Someone could build a fairly impressive collection for relatively cheap as most don't appreciate that bit of history.

My KAR98 Frankenrifle is in reality a WZ29 in a Polish KAR98 stock with Germanicon stock accessories, since switched with an actual German KAR98 and replaced with Polish ones. Spain apparently didn't care what went together so long as it worked.

As much as I love finely crafted firearms, the Spanish method does have a fair bit of merit. Can't argue much with what works.
