    Contacting WW2 Canadian war veteran's

I am from the UKicon and live in the Bordon Headley Bramshott and Ludshott area Hampshire that was heavily active with Canadianicon service personnel during WW2 as well as WW1. I have just discovered a moving target range the Canadians used which they fired their 2pounders and .30 cals from their tanks. I need to find more information if I can from any Candian WW2 veterans who served in this area in the UK. Where is the best place to contact them ie a legion or veteran association.

The Canadianicon Legion will have info on surviving vets. You'd better hurry though as they're dropping quickly...

I know they took home a few brides as well from that area around Bagshot, Hampshire..............left us with the lumber jacks and took the good looking ones instead

Any Canadian WW2 veterans will be in their 90's at least. And you'd need the names of the units who shot there. Lot of units were Militia and may or may not still exist too.
    This might help. www.canadiansoldiers.com
You can rummage around here as well.

Very true, most existing reserve units have a handle on their history though, easy enough to get the association to help I think.

"...existing reserve units..." The issue is more about finding which of 'em were there.

Topfmine, Have you contacted any/all of the local historical societies and local historians in the Bordon Headley Bramshott and Ludshott area? I'm betting that at least one of them may well have details and possibly photographs of the camp and units that occupied them. There may be local inhabitants that have relatives that married Canadians and they may have some useful information as well.

I contacted a veterans association and they put me in contact with the Canadianicon Legion magazine with a lost trail request. Hope to hear something in the new year, fingers crossed.
