    Fresh RMC Stamp

Currently being offered on the e-bay as a freshly Repaired restored stock having a 'Early Rockola cartouche re-stamping'. Not that it needs to be said it's a Reproduction stamp, but I give the seller credit for sharing it. Looking through past feedback, he's got to have a small fortune invested in his Repro stock stamps. One stock had a Ghostly QHMC CC and RMC in the slingwell.... but they went ahead and stamped a RMC/CC on it.

This one was sold a few weeks ago with positive feedback left by the buyer, but......... it's back.

It's too bad about these stamp sets. That's why I chose to bail out on collecting such delicious delicacies, a couple decades away they may all be in question as many won't be able to tell the difference.

Too nice a cartouche compaired to the condition of the stock is a huge give a way.

yep, if he was going to re-stamp the stock he should have made it more believable by lightly stamping it. Looks like he branded it!!

Wasn't able to find the one pictured above, but I did run across one that had an early Winch stamp and a PU in the slingwell.

    Thanks for the link.

200+ for a stock that is stated as not original seems crazy to me, but what do I know other than the stamp looks nowhere near like a real one....thank goodness.

My mistake, thought the stock I mentioned was Winch marked and PU in sling well but it is in fact UEF/GHD (the second link...same seller). Not very often a seller states the stock has been restamped even though it is obvious. Looks like an ordnance bomb to the rear of the recoil plate.

Wish he had a REPRODUCTION STAMP he could/should pound in to the Op slide channel.

Years from now, placed in the mix on a dark gun show table, someone who seems to have heard these things were/are rare and valuable will grab it. Heading home with it with the sun shinning and radio cranked up......... and sh!t eating grin thinking he's on top of the moon.... until that ole gruff 80 year old neighbor he shows it to lets him know it's one of those FAKED CUSTOMIZED stocks from way back in 2017.
Man....... I hope I make it to 80!

Had a conversation about this very subject not long ago with an old timer. His comment to me was, "How does one differentiate between a 35 and 70 year old stamp if one has aged artificially and the other naturally?"

    An MRI? Scanning electron microscope?

Experience and education. The new stamps simply aren't the same. They aren't correct...we have entire threads here on that.
