Source for K98 Original Cleaning Rods?

    Hi Folks,

I have a 1944 K98icon, my grandfather (3d Army NCO) brought back from WWII. It was kept in a safe for decades, but we recently got it out, removed all the cosmolineicon, and took it to the range. I believe first time it was ever fired. Beautiful firearm. All numbers match, no import marks of course. The only thing missing is the cleaning rod. I would like to find one that is original and year-correct for the gun. Google and that auction site left my head spinning.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable source?

    Thanks,

    mark

98k clg rods are just where ever/when ever you find them..
The odds are at least even that what you will find is a post war repro. These will not have any markings of any sort on them where the WW 2 rods will have a proof mark and 2 diget ser nr (last 2 of the rifle).

    Mauser cleaning rod

I have looked for years for an original 33/40 cleaning rod and never could find one. I ended buying a repro 33/40 cleaning rod from SARCO about ten years ago, have to rework the profile. Doubt I will find one (11 inches long)

Also took many years to find the correct front sight hood as they are different from the K98icon
Mauser. I did get one from Tom in NJ.Attachment 87969Attachment 87970
