I just picked this up at a gun show and thought you guys might enjoy it, a little bit of a cross post I guess but here it is!

Under further examination I spotted a faded Century Arms Import mark that escaped my initial examination. Does anybody know where Century Imported these from?

Trying to figure out where CAI may have imported this from.
We need a few 1911 Aces Like Johnny Peppers and his gang.

First (I'd think) you'd need to find out where this one first shipped to.
Then we might be able to find out where it was sent.
Will need serial #.

I read from a older post by Mr. Peppers, That The Eagle head stamp acceptance mark took place at approximately serial number 303000 in May of 1918...... THX JP !
Snowman You stated in the crossed post you believe it's stamped 5.7 below the eagle.
I believe it's possible this is a S7 Or maybe S17 stamp. I'm no expert but I believe the S stands for Springfield and the 7 would make production late 1917-1918. Others will know, but in the mean time study the Cool Gun Site. Then we'll try to figure out where it came back from.

You should look for the other markings, where ever the site (link below) says they may or can be found, like under left grip, barrel and top of frame under slide.... etc. Look here at the Cool Gunsite link, I believe this is your model, it falls with in your serial number block. Your's being 449,6XX. But has the earlier grips.

I tried to copy and paste your picture showing the Eagle and 5.1 or S7 (?) but can't do so to where it can be enlarged. You might want to try and get a close up of any markings using your cameras 'Macro setting' (I know it as the little Flower setting) Strip it down and get pics of all markings.

Hey Painter! I posted this the day I picked up, no worries. I'll upload some photos on the other post along with information I have found tomorrow. I'll try to consolidate over on that one.
