    Cabela's is psychotic, as always

We have all shook our heads, said "wow", or much worse language when we look at 1903s in the Cabela's gun library. You know the ones. "Patton's rifle" and all that, but this one just absolutely blew me away. Either they are absolute morons, or absolute criminals.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Cabelas are hit and miss as you can tell by the prices. Last week they had a really nice Enfield 455 revolver that had been shaved and was priced at $499. Probably long gone by now as that was a fair price for it. They tend to hire the younger guys who really don't know a lot about the older, collectable stuff other than what the Blue Book states. I wish there was one closer to me so perhaps I could work there after second retirement. Then again when that time comes doubt I could deal well with the *** hats that walk in. Tried it in 99 when I retired from the Army and it was draining to say the least. But that was a pawn shop that had a huge firearm department.

I quit in '98 and then went reserves until '08. I tried to be a front till clerk in a surplus store. That didn't fly too long either...so I hear you.

Ridiculous. Mine had some 1903 action like that going on but not quite that bad. They are all over the place on collectibles but at mine they are all old grumpy guys who remain willfully ignorant about all the military stuff instead of young ones.
