I watched "Sands of Iwo Jima" on TV this weekend. I don't think I've seen it since I was a kid. I thought I saw Martin Milner, so looked up the cast later. It was him, just didn't know who he was until "Route 66" came along later. It was interesting that the soundtrack was edited to make it "PC" for those that would otherwise complain. - Bob

He was 18. Born in 1931 and the movies was released in 1949.
He was in quite a few military movies.
Halls of Montezuma 1951
Operation Pacific 1951
Fighting Coast Guard 1951
Torpedo Alley 1952
Destination Gobi 1953
Mister Roberts 1955
Francis in the Navy 1955
Navy Wife 1956
Screaming Eagles 1956
A long time before most knew him from Route 66 (60-64) and Adam-12 (68-75)

Bit of an educated guess...from looking at so many recruits myself and my own pics back at the beginning.
