Box#6

Interesting box which was painted a bright blue at one point. The Interior is missing the label and one of the wooden restraining portions is cracked in two.

One sticker clearly shows the rifle serial number as T32629.

Another sticker on the lid is painted over and shows the same rifle serial number and also shows a sight serial number- very hard to discern what it is- I think the serial number is 3 digits but might be 4. I think I can make out '260'.

T Box#1

A somewhat sad box with interesting barely visible markings and a curious 'modifcation' to the interior label.

T box#2 Bare wood top-

Really nice box with a replacement unpainted lid.

The leather attachments which connect the chest to the lid are present but were not connected when the lid was replaced.

The number stenciled onto the front and back seem to read- 5885.

T Box#3 Interarm USA

Paint applied by Interarm has been greatly damaged by the heat.

Interior of the chest is very nice despite the damage to the paint.

I'd be interested in the background of Interarm and their sales of 4T's

T Box#4 Plain Green box.

Quaint job of mending one of the carry handles and some numbers stenciled onto the box ends but not easily read- you could probably convince yourself that it was the serial number for the T you have which needs a chest.

As I remember it, all of the cases had one issue or another . They were not perfect . I was at the auction and bid on them as well . Be sure if you buy any that you can return them at the sellers cost . or have the seller refund you a discount on the sale price .

When I imported many No.4Mk.1T and L42A1 rifles back in the late 90's and early 2000's, there were lots of issues with the chests that had been protecting the old girls for decades. I just repaired the chests in need before I resold them. I still have some spare replacement wood pieces that I made. I even had some of the sheet metal corners for the L42 chests made by a local sheet metal guy that were perfect. No big deal.
