A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Lastchapter, Yes--made at the Longbranch factory in Ontario. Find the "Knowledge Libraryicon" at the top left corner of this page. There is a ton of interesting info there about the Longbrach No.4 rifles. Salt Flat

Long Branch was in what is now Mississauga, Ont. The plant was at Dixie and Lakeshore Rd. Closed by Trudeau the Elder in 1975 as soon as the FN C1A1 contract was complete. (The SOB couldn't close the place fast enough.) The actual plant was surprisingly small considering it's output. Was in it a couple times.
And yes, all Long Branch rifles were Canadianicon. Wouldn't be called Long Branch rifles if they weren't.
And check the headspace before you shoo your rifle.
    Spelling and Grammar count!
