Stock Refinishing
Thanks for the help with what I should use on the stock to clean off the varnish and reoil it. I wound up using citristrip to remove the varnish and when the varnish came off, a few little surprises jumped out! In the stock are the markings of where a GI or another foreign military man (Don't know which country taught that method) was setting his clip, super neat! There were some areas of the stock where the varnish wasn't put on and those spots are pictured as they turn up a hair darker than the rest of the finish. I put on 5 coats of BLO once a day and let it sit with the Coat on it for 30-40 mins, then wiped it off to prevent stickyness. Anywho here are some before and after photos.

Those are just spots where the finish wore a bit and allowed dirt or oil to collect. They can be cleaned out but they take a bit...more work.
Very nice looking rifle...
