    Possible SCW 91/30

Found this unusual 91/30 today. A 1937 Izhevsk, non import, non refurb..matching save for bolt. Bolt has earlier Izhevsk bow and arrow markings.
I believe it is an SCW example. Sanded stock. In fact, stock appears handmade, or a hasty copy. Crossbolt is crude, note the unique way the forestock has been shaped. Bolt handle bent at some point.
There appears to be an ink stamp under the buttplate.
    No 'Made In USSR' marking.
Came with a pretty used bayonet. Seller swore it had been with the rifle as long as he could remember.
I tried to get a clear pic, as there is some sort of symbol scratched onto the left of the rear sight base. It is very faint, will try to get a better pic later. It is very hard to see, and I have no clue what it could be.
All in all, an interesting example. Enjoy the pics!

I am not sure SCW or bubba, without the markings there is no 100% way to tell.

Serial number too high, date too early, Finn stock- so no, probably not.

1936 and 1937 are considered SCW years.

You’re right- going by memory, never a good idea.

Could be a SCW rifle, but nothing definitive to confirm it, and someone stateside really did a number to the stock.

The 'modification' is indeed interesting. Finish is uniform. We know sanded stocks are an SCW trait. It almost looks as though the work was done before it was sanded. The stock is definitely not Sovieticon..who knows? Maybe a super duper rare Spanish experimental stock.

Sanded stocks are also a Finnishicon trait, and a bubba trait, etc.

If it is a SCW rifle, it wouldn't be a experimental stock, rather something someone took a chunk out of to try and make a hand rest. It was also done crudely by power tools as otherwise it wouldn't have also gotten the stock crossbolt.
