    1903 L.E. 1* ConD11 22 Patern14 No.1

A few pictures of my pattern 14 no.1 trainer.
    1903 L.E. with sparkbrook 22 conversion in 1905?
Some replaced wood, a gouge and stock repairs, but all matching numbers with a great shiny bore.

    Please feel free to comment.

Very nice, one of my favorite rifles. Can you check the top of the butt near the butt plate for a rack number? I have observed from "C1"(sold it to a friend in a moment of weakness) to as high as "C539" giving the reasoning that Australiaicon received at least that many.

A correct handguard can be found if patient and willing to spend the $$.

    Good luck.

Does the rifle have any markings linking it to Australiaicon?

The TAS marking on the stock disk makes me think The Armidale School, a local private school (public school to the british). They have thier own small bore range, cadets and a quick google shows the school "shooting club" dating back to the 1890s.

I read it as the conversion to Sht.LE Cond.II was done in 1905. The subsequent Pat 14 .22 conversion would be done at least 1914 onwards.

What I do note is that the bolt head is a unit from the center fire 303 converted to rim fire. I was under the impression that on conversion the bolt heads were switched out with purpose made ones. Apparently not. I just learnt something!

It has a U stamp on the top, front of the receiver.
