I don't know which world you live in to ask this question, but I do have two Maxim silencers: one cutaway, one complete.

Attached some pictures, plus an additional comparison of the Maxim with two different K98kicon silencers (the one in the very front uses metal cones while the one in the middle has two rubber shims).

modern made suppressors that will fit on a 30-06 and still work without being shot off the end?
    i would say,, not likely.
    even so.
trying to suppress the 30-06 would be hard to do, you may be able to quiet the report, but not the bullet breaking the speed of sound.
many companies make a quality suppressor, but all need a threaded barrel, even the quick release type, will need a threaded barrel to install the housing .
even with a Maxim collectors item, they had issues with it coming loose during testing. few pictures of them damaged

with the likely hood of the laws changing regarding Suppressors here in the USAicon,
i have been gearing up for threading and installing them.
i have a .308 Remington 700 set up with one, as well as an AR15 in 7.62x39 i can tell you the .308 suppressor doesnt work well with the 7.62x39.
the bullet actually struck the inside of the suppressor, i have run a reamer down the suppressor and over sized it a bit.
even with the can installed, it does make a good crack and not like you hear on TV.
with my 10/22 all you hear is the bolt cycling in the rifle, i plan on some more range testing today...

many modern manufactures are building quality products right now,
    from 700 to 1500.
all will have to be threaded in place. you can install a thread protector when not in use.
any .308 type device should be good.. they can be heavy..
i would wait until after the law changes, and save the federal fees
