I know Pitfighter above. I also have a few MP-44's and kits, get ammo Privi if you can ,its around and reloadabl. I prefer original magazines, in fact that's all I own. Magazine prices have been crazy here in the US and in Europe. I have a set price per mag and it $ 300.00. If they want more, well I have plenty and magazine parts. Sometime's I pay shipping and if the mag is in good shape, I will go slightly higher. plenty of original parts around just need the cash to pay the high prices. K-98 slings fit original are around if you look

    enjoy

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Hi Henry B -
My Fg42 was made by Krieghoff in 1944 - it is a reconstituted parts kit (WAF classifieds) - with a semi-auto only bolt and op rod made by SSD (an original FA op rod can no longer be installed) and semi-auto trigger parts custom-made in the US (922R) - the L marked ZF4 scope is original as are the covers and shades, however the mount itself is an SSD reproduction, the sling is from an M53 and is the sturdiest and best MG sling I have found.
(Simpsons have an original Fg42 sling for $750, but I am not quite that anal, yet, lol.)
It is 7,9x57 - as it was when it left the krieghoff factory.
The Mag crate was found through a Facebook European collectors group and came from Germanyicon.

Hey Sprat - hope you are well, sir.

Pitfighter 71, That is an impressive collection.

    Does the MP44 fire reliably?

This is one thing I am wondering as I am awaiting mine--will it work reliably?

    thanks,

    Ed

Mine are used for movie work -
I have not removed the BFA since I took delivery of the rifle.

The Haenel MP44 I own did 3000 plus blanks from Atlantic Wall on the last shoot - (over a two month period)
The two screws that hold the stock in place worked loose on the last day of filming - this was a problem with the wood not the rifle.
It has now been fixed with a new stock.

We had three or four FTF's on the shoot - these were down to a bad mag, the 1001 East Germanicon mags seems to be the most reliable.

The Atlantic Wall blanks are not very hot, but they are very reliable.
