Exporting from UK and importing in to USA a ten round Enfield 7.62mm Magazine

Is anyone aware of any customs regulations that would prevent me sending a ten round Enfield 7.62mm magazine to the USA? Can I just declare it as such on the customs label or are there additional forms either I or my American friend will need to fill in?

None that I can think of as long as it is 10 rounds or not going to a Communist State. I've had Lahti mags sent from Finland. Use 9705.0000 and put Collectible Rifle Magazine

It's perfectly legal as long as the declared value is $100 or less. If it's more than that, it requires a Form 6 import permit.

The $100 applies to exports from the United States to other countries except Canada which is $500 limit. It does not apply to imports to the United States.

You're correct about the exports but wrong about imports capt14k. Do you have an (08) import FFL or are you an ITAR registrant with the State Department? I'd guess not?

27 CFR 447.41(c)(2) states: An import permit is not required for the importation of minor components and parts for Category I(a) and I(b) firearms except barrels, cylinders, receivers, (frames), or complete breech mechanisms, when the total value does not exceed $100 wholesale in any single transaction.

I just got one through Facebook from the UK nothing special he just boxed it up and mailed it regular mail to Canada got it in about 6 days. it is 10 rounds or less here.

It seems you are correct. Now where do stocks fall? Also says that you need not be a licensed importer if for personal use but you need a form 6 for parts exceeding $100 wholesale but scopes are now exempt as are accessories.

Definitely put a damper on my day.

Thankfully I have been in compliance due to the wholesale prices and what I paid.

The stock question is the only one that would affect me. I'm talking about wood stocks for bolt action rifles. Could they fall under other commercial use being the beauty of the wood itself could make for a display piece?

Also when did they lower the $500 to $100 for importing? I am assuming sometime around 1999 because I found an ATF Document that stated lowered from previous $500 limit.
