Thumbs down More Gun Broker woes

I just got another bill in the mail from Gun Broker threatening to take me to a collection agency. I commented on this last month. I have been receiving these notices for over a year now. It goes up by $.50 every month. I finally had enough, they wouldn't answer their phone, reply to emails or even snail mail, so I surrendered and sent them $20 with a note asking them to lose my address. Well, their reply came today... It was another bill, this time for $13.50!

Be warned, these guys are incorrigible crooks, thieves, and liars. Of course that is just my humble opinion.

I too would like to hear details.
I've been a member for 4 years. Bought and sold a little, zero problems so far. I do get a monthly statement each month with a $1.34 credit, not sure why.

    Question Details??????????

I don't know why they are billing me. They refuse to communicate with me except for a monthly bill that goes up $.50 each month. I would have paid them long ago if I could have found out what/why (if anything) they are billing me. As I said above, I surrendered and sent them a payment of $20 (a $7 overpayment) along with a note for them to loose my address. I am still being billed. Why? Again no, clue.

It is not unreasonable to expect them to respond with an itemized statement for your account.

The problem is $20 isn't worth fighting over unless you just want to make a point(I sometimes do that). If you paid by credit card ask the CC company to have them provide a statement of what you're charges were. I bet the CC company can get someone to pick up the phone. You might try and to report them to your State's Attorney General.

Personally, I won't do business with Gunbroker. I signed up on the auction side, and went to ask a seller a question. I am then told that I need an credit card on file to bid, ask sellers questions, etc., and tell me that I won't be charged to file a card with them. Not an easy feeling for sure. I've never had a problem anywhere else signing up, bidding, asking questions, and using money orders to pay for winning bids. Some people don't use credit cards, and they are just losing money with that particular policy the way I see it. RED, your complaints here make me even more weary, seeing the trouble you're having with them.

GunBroker uses a CC to verify you are who you say you are, if GunBroker didn't do this they wouldn't have any control over members having secondary names to run up bids with or people making new names every time they wanted to screw another member.

    Red,
Are you really saying that someone is billing you $20. and you have no idea what it is for? So, you sent them the $20. just to get them off your back?
Let me know your address and I'll start sending you bills.

It is not necessarily fraud. The awful fact is that some of those web sites (sale types included) were started by hobbyists or computer geeks with absolutely no idea how to run a business. They devoted what knowledge they have to web site design, etc., and none to the business/bookkeeping/billing end. Then they walk away, thinking the site will run itself.
