Sht.22 Mk.II bolt question

The Sht.22 Mk.II training rifles were built upon the action of an Mk.II MLM or MLE. They had a Sht.LE barrel fitted chambered for .22 Rf and the fore stock was modified. The intention was to provide a trainer with similar balance and handling characteristics to that of the period 303 Sht.LE service rifle.

The bolt was a Mk.II Lee metford unit with a rim fire bolt head and modified striker. The cocking piece along with trigger group was Sht.LE with a 2 stage pull off (retrofitted to pre 1912 trainers with ball and socket triggers).

A passing comment I heard from somebody was that their bolt was a converted MLE unit with the safety catch extension removed.

Sht.22 Mk.II owners, can you do a quick visual and see what you see on the back of your bolt. Any sign of the removal of a safety catch extension? If the metal has been dressed and finished properly, there will now be no difference between it and that of an MLM.

Just wondering if this was an actual factory mod, or somebody with a restoration work around.
