That would look right at home on my 1944.
    Very nice!
I have to find one with that GAW stamp.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... "ABSOLUTELY NOT" made by other sub contractor. Springfield made all their own stocks as did Winchester. The small grip cannons was nothing more than a acceptance stamp by inspector. Larry Babcock put out a book started as only information from the net. He did not filter it properly nor did he think about some of the info he stole and used without permission. I am only stating facts as it upsets me when someone does this for greed and puts bad info out along the way. I put work out that I was not happy that he stole info of mine with no credit. A kid named Kevin gave him my info and I called him on it but no luck. Wayne Bradford also did the same to no avail.

Larry put a false claim to sub contractors for stocks and this is 100% wrong for WWII. I have researched markings, indents , contours and more with all being from Springfield with minor changes in areas over time. But the base of all WWII Springfield stocks are exact. Rick Bicon

I agree with everything you say. Babcock's book was atrocious, I edited the whole thing as a favor to Scott Duff, Babcock never even said thanks... he included my corrections without any attribution at all.

It looks great on my 44. Been looking for a year. These things are like gold. I was happy with what I paused for it. I was actually thinking of sending my new stock to get reproduction stamps just for looks. But this is way better. I like the used look. Looks right now

So it is a SA stock just an internal inspection stamp. Thanks

It is a shame Bob and he is an arrogant individual who actually thinks he is the God of Garands now. I get it if you put out a book but to say it was just to help out from a culmination of Internet things he found and turn it into it was all his info. Sad. Rock B

This can affect the way people put their hard earned information that is true out there for others to learn from that someone comes along uses it for their gain and preening rites.
What is to happen now as there are allot who share freely on the web do they have to patent everything they say, right now I reckon there is a plethora of persons contemplating what they say in case a schmuck comes along and gets monies from something that all they did was rob the net of others knowledge or research.
Maybe he should change his name to Badcock!
Hope the wheel of life squashes him flat, sorry that you got caught out Bob Seijasicon.
