As normal searching something else and found this Vickers Marked Luger, I don't know much about Lugers except I'd like one...... but an interesting read see link below.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. There was some research on these Lugers published in one of the HBSA journals a while back if I remember correctly.

    Luger in 45ACP

Luger actually brought out 2 units in 45 Caliber for evaluation by the US Army Pre WWI of course conducted in the Spring of 1907 there were 2 Luger's made in that caliber for the evaluation only 1 survives Serial # 2 the testing was extensive & quite brutal.

Source from my library ~ The Luger Pistol By Fred A Datig Pages 93 - 111.
