2 bayonets in 2 days!!

In two days I have come across 2 p1907 bayonets. I believe I did well on them for just over 100 dollars for the pair. I don't know as much as I should about these. Any input will be appreciated.

The Wilkinson is the basic fairly common variety but the Lithgow is a real keeper. Grips look pretty rough. I'd look for a set of original replacements for it.

The 1920 Lithgow would be the pick of the 2 whether or not you replace the scales is up to you I always like to leave things as you brought them (within reason) as adding new grips will just be an addition no FTR or done in service give them a nice drink of RLO/Turpentine 50/50 mix and enjoy them. When pulling them out and replacing them into their respective scabbards do it in the vertical plane not horizontal reason is any sag in the scabbard when horizontal the tip catches the inside damaging it and eventually it will get harder & harder to insert the bayonet.
I store mine vertically and every now and then give the bayonet including the grips & scabbard a lick of Balistol to keep them fresh.

The Wilkinson has a nice clear Pall Mall which on most of them mine included gets to be either half a word high with the bottom missing or very faint, they are both keepers now all you need to do is chase down in '07's a Vickers, Mole, EFD, JAC, Chapman, Sanderson, Siamese contract, MA, OA an Indian GRI x 2 types plus a couple of Jungle carbine type with a Smachette one which will make a nice collection.

Bayonet collecting is like the 303 Lee Enfield Rifles you just keep finding a home for them.........

Just over 100 dollars for the pair is an incredibly good price. Most of 'em are worth over $100 each.
Mind you, those grips have been ride hard and put away wet. $9.95 for BNIB walnut grips at Gunparts. $3.45 each for the screws.
