I bought a can of that when it was first offered for sale. Paid $99 delivered for it. I also bought a can of late Polish ball too. My PSL did not seem to like both of them but really seemed to like the Polish ball a little bit better. Under 2 inches at 100 yards but not up to my reloads which did not set the world on fire at 1 1/2 inches. These rifles are not sniper quality and I don't think they ever were designed to be. Just to get close enough to make someone duck.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Yep, that’s correct.

Romania developed the PSL because the Sovieticon Union stopped exporting military equipment to them after they refused to join the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakiaicon in 1968.

They still wanted to follow the soviet doctrine of having one “marksman” per squad who could reach out beyond the effective range of their assault rifles (AK’s) and hit a man size target.

The PSL is basically a cross between an SVD and an AK. Some people claim it can deliver one MOA under the right conditions. I don’t dispute that. I just think those conditions must be pretty rare. If you are getting 1.5 MOA, I’d say you are doing well.

The way I see it, the ability to quickly deliver follow up shots makes up for the accuracy.

I agree with you. I think the more a barrel heats up the bigger the group seems to become. NO matter what I tried I could not get a group smaller then an inch and a half. Good quality bullets did make a difference using Sierra and Speer 150 SP. But again not able to get to the one inch size group. It was a fun rifle to shoot but did damage brass cases a bit.
