    Turkish GEW98 Opinions?

What's the consensus on Turkishicon Mausers? I have a line on a Turkish stamped GEW98. I'm not entirely clear if it's Germanicon manufactured and just Turkish stamped, or if it's Turkish manufactured. From the photos it looks to be in immaculate condition and has been either well cared for or, more likely, refinished. The seller is asking $450.

The Turks didn't produce any GEW98's. They were sold to them by Germanyicon and stamped with Turkishicon markings. General rule of thumb is in equal condition, a Turk rifle will probably bring about 25% less than a German one. $450 seems about right to me for one in good condition but the possible refinishing might be a concern. You also want to make sure it is still in GEW98 configuration and not upgraded by Turkey into a more standardized version like they did many others.
