The answer is absolutely nothing unless it has been brought up to the new quite ridiculous EU specification and then resubmitted to the proof house. If this has not been done it is ILLEGAL to sell or even give it away, but you are allowed to keep it until you die....... then it becomes illegal even to leave it in your will unless the aforementioned is complied with.

In other words, 'What's it worth?'

    'About two years'.

(But you're ok if you have the new super duper UKicon/EU deact certificate).

I was only asking what they are worth
I'll get my old handcuffs out now and oil them up, just talking about it
The reason for asking was, I didn't realise they were out there for sale, I was just looking at D&B Militaria's site and they want £950 for them

Well, any dealers offering these things for sale are risking everything if they don't have the current paperwork. I would hope everyone does now.

The silly part about it is before current EU directive and under the pre 1996 spec whilst still being fully deactivated because they had a bi pod they were allowed to have full moving parts unlike the rifle without the bipod which had to be deactivated to a different specification. If readers from around the world are confused don't worry we were as well.....

I remember seeing a Turk carrying one over in Cyprus, up towards the airport at Lizard flats. Completely silver and well carried...long time back...

I've had a couple of G1s in the past. The last one I had was a very early deact, all complete as in the pics below. It had UKicon proof marks so I imagine it got chopped when the semi-auto ban came into effect in early 1989.

It cost me £650 but I ended up trading it a couple of years ago now for a deact 4T (why do people do such things? ). I only wanted it as it came with an original bracket and No32 scope, worth it for those alone.

    Jim,
I was in Cyprus last week seeing my lad. It certainly was odd to see a gang of civvies walking down the road holding the rifles aloft.
Even before any bans here in the UKicon, I am fairly certain you weren't allowed to carry them in a public place like that unsheathed!

    DesperateDan,
I take it it was full of weld, That looks like a nice example with all bits accessible as a DEAC
