    Yugo Capture K98...

So I'm looking at a Yugoicon Capture Germay K98icon... The barrel and receiver match, but not the bolt. Bore has some frosting. Seller is asking $500.

What's the opinion on these? is $500 a fair price?

    Most emphatically, NO!
That is way out of line. Average for just about any Yugoslav Mauser is $325-$350. Less is not uncommon and more not so many.
Now the Russianicon Capture Mauser 98s are running about that.

Kind of depends on the rifle. Are the German markings intact or have they been scrubbed and Yugoslav crest stamped on? RC's are bringing $600+ now so $500 may not be out of line for a really nice Yugoicon capture. K98icon's have been going crazy lately, not sure why but prices have shot up dramatically. One on Gunbroker now they are asking $895 which seems way out of line. No bidders on it either.

If it were me, I'd hold out for an RC for that kind of money. They can still be found for $500 but it's getting hard.

No longer matters... I found a nice looking Czechicon K98icon from Libertytree. None of the parts match and it's probably post war ('45 with only proof markings), but I only want one as a shooter anyway so collectability is pretty low on my list.

Maybe the new Call of Duty video game that was released a few months back may have done that, set in WW2. Alot of folks want WW1/WW2 games right now. Could be what is driving surplus prices up.

WWII Call of Duty has been out for years unless they made a new one. I've owned it for several years and I never buy this stuff new.

I should try playing them more but just never got into them much. The one I have starts out on a Japaneseicon held island. I have several others also but never played them. Yard sale pickups.
