    The H barrel was the child of LE barrels. Just shortened to fit the No1Mk3. Was also used for the range pattern LE to conform to Military specs for competition.

    Kiwi you are a legend, I can't thank you enough.

    Bindi, I know that much: They are the same profile just turned shorter than LE spec. Is there anyway to tell if this rifle should actually have a 'H' barrel or a normal MLE barrel.

    Barrel date stamp and the rifle date will give an idea if it is a black powder barrel changed out to cordite Mk6 or a replacement Lithgowicon barrel for a Long Lee then shortened to Range rifle pattern or a H ... the date.
