    Spanish Air Force Mauser

I picked up two rifles at a local gun shop yesterday a Spanish Air Force and M48 Yugoicon to add to my already overfilled gun safe.

I don't know much about the Spanish Air Force Mauser and the short search I did on the web didn't help matters much. Some say its an M188, others M43, still other M44. I'll wade through that stuff and figure it out eventually.

It is an interesting rifle and made much better then the 1916's I have. Its chambered in 8MM Mauser (7.92 x 57) and not in that bad of condition although I've not taken it down yet or headspaced it.

The curious prat for me in that the muzzle end and trigger guard looks to have been painted black at one time. I don't think it was manufactured that way but could be wrong. Maybe someone can help me out with that one here.

The bore is dirty like dust has collected on oil, but looks like its going to clean up to be shiny. From what I can tell the only thing its missing is the cleaning rod which is now in my list of parts to find.
