I am looking for information on the tool in this picture marked as cutter Z
I have a reweld that was cut through that area and it would be convenient to have a similar cutter and clean out that recess.

In my opinion this is the cutter that cut the dimples in the early DD Mk1 and the Mk3 body variants. Unless your gun is a DD or Mk3 I think you can leave it out.

receiver is a mk3 demil that was cut and welded right through the dimples. so the now rewelded receiver has weld lumps filling a portion of each dimple. I have figured out the width of the cutter and now all I need is to find the radius. having the correct size tool will make weld clean up very simple.

The diameter scales to be 1.47" so the radius is 0.735". Doesn't translate evenly to metric.

There are woodruff cutters that are 1.5" dia. Face width?

There are 1-15/32"(1.47") dia Tee Slot cutters available, 5/8" face, 1" shank. KEO brand about $235.

None of the above are convex which is what that cutter is.

I think I would grind a stone to the dimensions you need and clean up with that.

Cutter Z was obviously a special made cutter for that one operation.

From memory, the cutter on the Mk3 isn't a rounded cutter but a rounded bull-nose cutter that instead of coming in from the side to take a clean radial cut, comes in from the side and mills forwards (or rearwards) to leave a flat bottomed recess. Take a look next time. I could be wrong of course......
