I think I am in the right forum

    Good Evening Gents,

I found an interesting idea at the local Cabella's.
As anyone who has frequented that establishment knows how the gun racks are, mostly in the vertical arrangement. When I asked to see a rifle, it seemed that it was held somehow.
They had installed those powerful little magnets behind the felt cushion.
NOW, what wanted to know is if anyone can tell me if an N50 magnet has the strength needed to hold a barrel in the rack?

    Thanks for reading,

    Gil

Absolutely, just be sure you're not buying the tiny ones. something 1/4" to 1/2" by 1/8" will do just fine. I use Neodymium "Rare Earth" magnets everywhere around the shop, they're strong little buggers. I even have a couple slapped on the sides of my truck and Harley oil filters.
