THIS MADE ME CHUCKLE - STATISTICS WHO WOULD WRITE THEM?

    This came from the U.S......................

    (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

    (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

    (C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services.

    Now think about this:

    Guns

    (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000.

    (Yes, that's 80 million)

    (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

    (C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

    Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT Almost everyone has at least one doctor.

This means you are over 900 times more likely to be killed by a doctor as a gun owner!!!

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

It's worse if they're driving too. You can use statistics to prove or disprove anything. Insurance companies have been doing it for eons.

It is a rare physician who willfully kills a patient. So, if the number of people intentionally killed by doctors were added to their total of caused deaths, I suspect the statistical number would not change much. However, the same cannot be said of firearms fatalities. Excluding self defense and legitimate police kills et cetera, I would guess that if the number of murders and suicides were added to the gun deaths the comparison would not be so favorable to gun possessors. Best. Tom

Why aren't the car fatalities included as here the cars most certainly kill and maim allot more than guns, its a stigma that will haunt gun owners for the whole of time for the publicity that it attracts when someone goes off the rails with one (a gun that is.)

How true. I always tell my wife. You can be treated by the doctor who was at the head of his class or the doctor who barely passed. They are all still called "doctor".
