Pattern room drawing request procedure

The Pattern Room emailed me back! They do have a dimensioned drawing on file and they said they would send it to be for a 5 GBP processing fee.

5 Pounds is $6.91USD, as of today. Hard to beat an actual drawing. You still need a smithy with the skills and tools/machines to do Whitworth threads though.
These guys in England are Whitworth tooling suppliers. Maybe they can give you the name of somebody Stateside.

Hi. That's just the cutter. And you need tooling that does the external threads on the barrel shank and a lathe that'll do it. Think in terms of a die, not a tap. Even though it's not a tap and die job. MSC might be able to direct you to a smithy though. And it's a smithy, not just a machine shop. All gun smiths are machinists, but not all machinists are gun smiths.

It's simple to make a change of calibre rifle go bang. But it's the other parts of the cycle that are non starters ESPECIALLY when you have a case with a smaller base rim diameter. The parts of the cycle such as unlock (easy) extract (a bit more difficult) eject (a tad more difficult but achievable, cock (easy) feed, load (non starters I say) and lock.

222 Rem in a Sht.22 Mk.IV*. It is a single loader just like the 22 trainer that it was based upon.

All I did was to rechamber and change the bolt back to center fire.
The empty cases dont 'eject', but simply extract then drop off the bolt face as they clear the chamber mouth to be collected in the empty mag body .

The clever bit, as Mr.Laider suggests, would be to feed from a mag and then to eject.

I'm not that clever.

Why not cut a bad barrel up and use the chamber end as a bushing with the new barrel and bushing thread in any shape thread you want.
