    cross patee stamp on barrel

    Attachment 91248

This is a 1903A3 barrel attached to a low number SA receiver. Can anyone identify the two "cross patee" (iron cross) stamps on the barrel?
    TIA

Just an inspectors mark, and at this late date, probably impossible to identify.

They are similar to others I've seen on earlier Remington barrels and parts. What's the date of the barrel?

Sorry Rick, I have no idea what the barrel date is. This rifle was brought into my son's gun store because the owner wanted to remilitarize it from a sporter. It had a low number SA receiver and a Redfield rear sight (similiar to a Lyman).
