    Making a wide front sight

I had that problem too; very thin front sight blade was hard to see. What I did was to take a piece of brass tubing (I used 1/16 inch O.D.) and file half the tube away leaving a 'U' shaped piece. Cut this to height of sight blade and epoxy it to blade. Paint it flat black. Use bigger tubing if needed. After hundreds of fired rounds, the makeshift sight blade is still solidly attached.

The fellow who makes USMC style sights for the 1903 is Bill Bentz. His email address is either dcm450shtr@comcast.net or 190dcm450shtr@comcast.net
