    M1 Carbine - Serial Number 5221443

I ran across this bit of paperwork at an estate auction back in December. They didn't have the carbine for sale (if it was even still with the family) and I wasn't able to purchase this paperwork. Thought you fellas might find it interesting.

I did snap a couple pictures and thought I would share.

I would buy a sinful amount of carbines if they only cost $20!!

    1963 NRA Sale

I cleaned, looked over and wrote down a parts/type description for this one for a friend. So he'd know exactly what he had.
He'd mentioned he had picked it up from the Widow of the gentleman on the paperwork.
Took in on trade for some work.. IIRC.
I also filled out the CC Data sheet on it and gave him a copy.
After getting it back to him, he informed me he was listing it on GB.
At that time I made a more than fair offer for it, that he declined. Told him my offer would stand if the Auction didn't work out.
When I looked up the listing I seen he had included a big picture of the Data sheet in the Auction. With my name in big print on the top of the page as the Reporter.....
Pictures were horrible showing nearly zero detail. After running 8-9 auction cycles they ended up selling it for far less than my offer.. ??
No heart ache here as I have plenty of Inlands in this range. Any way here's the Carbine and the original paperwork.

    BTW, They cost $17.50 + $2.50 shipping..... Total $20.00

    Inland 5,093,600.

My Winchester has this paperwork, plus more. Bought in 1965 from the NRA. Was that date 56/10/29? I have an Inland 1-45.

I noticed it did not come with a magazine, add 25 cents.
I would buy a sinful amount of anything at 1963 prices. I think 45 acp's were $25 delivered.
Hell, a new split window Corvette was only $4,257, inflation.

Carbine prices have doubled about every eight years since 1963. Good investments back then, and still today.
