DSM 34 with two piece stock

I have a DSM 34 Thüringen maker. The stock is two piece not including the handguard. It separates underneath the barrel band. Does not appear to have been cut but rather made this way. Wood is matching. I could easily glue stock together, however if this is original I would not want to change it. As it is now, one cannot tell it is two piece. Just looking for info. It is very accurate. Thanks

Perhaps a well done "duffle bag special"?...

It's a duffle cut as Tom says in #2.
