    Lyman Alaskan

    Lucked out at a recent show....I purchased a front sun shade assembly for my MC-1952 repro....I don't know which way the first piece is installed....The part with the fingers....What is the correct way ,forward or aft facing for the fingers.....thanks for the help....regards....alex

    I'm thinking you mean how to add the sunshade on the Army M1C? The Army M1C had the sunshade on the M81 or M82 scope. Which the M81/82 is just the lyman Alaskan scope with a sunshade and different reticules.

    The M1952 USMC Sniper had a 4X Kollmorgen scope which didn't have a sunshade.

    Here is the Army M1C vs the M1952 USMC.




    And this is how it mounts on the scope. There is a front ring you remove at least on the M82. Slide the shade on, and then screw on the ring.

    I labeled which side goes on the scope first.
