A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I have two. One is as issued. The other I am restoring it may take the rest of my life. Bought it and a stock to go with it cheap last summer. Turns out the stock is what is considered a very early one. Handguard and front band will be almost impossible to fine. No middle barrel band on this one. I modified a standard front band for it and have it in the stock. Looks finished but it isn't. If I were smart, I'd sell the rare stock to some other sucker and get a normal one but I never said I was smart.

Seems to be a common trait with all of us here. I have a lot of project rifles, so much I sigh every time I open my safe - I keep finding rifles that "need my help" I even have a boatload of parts I can't sell because I don't know if I will need them for one of my projects.

I figured I'd post a photo of my early production rifle but realized I haven't taken a new photo of it since I fixed up the front band and bayonet lug for it. This is what the stock looks like at least so you can see the difference.
