The large group is Israeli 8x57. Frenchicon 30-06, Germanicon WW2 8x57 and then the FNM if I remember right is 7.62x51 (308) from Brazilicon.

Thanks for the help everyone, Just so I am clear….in post 1 all cartridges including the one stamped ENK are Israeli.

Post #2 the first cartridge stamped “2-54” at the 12:00, “1” at 3:00, “7.62” at 6:00 & “LM” at the 9:00 is French, The cartridges with the headstamp hib are German and the cartridges stamped FNM 72-1 or 72-3 are Portuguese?

The ENK 52 round is definitely Greek, not Israeli.

    hlb not hib

hlb = Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbritzen, G.m.b.H., Werk Selterhof, Germanyicon

ENK = Greek Powder and Cartridge Co., Athens, Greece

TZ = Israeli Military Industries, Tel Aviv, Israel

IMI = Israel Military Industries, Tel Aviv, Israel

    There are actually 3 FNM's

FNM - Fábrica Nacional de Municiones, Santa Fe, México (near Mexico City)

FNM - Fábrica Nacional de Munições de Armas Ligeiras, Chelas, Portugal

    FNM - Unknown Factory, Mexico

Source - International Ammunition Association web page here is the link to the page if you do not already have it its pretty good for finding stuff.

Without any doubt, the 7.92 FNM rounds pictured are from "FNM - Fábrica Nacional de Munições de Armas Ligeiras, Chelas, Portugal".

    Israeli 7,92mm converted to 7,62x51mm

During the early 60's military 7,62mm NATO was difficult to buy surplus and commercial ammo was expensive. Some decided to converted the Israeli 7,92mm to 7,62mm. It was boxed in 20 rd cardboard and sold at gun shows around the Chicago area.

Later on this was also done to make 7,62x39mm from other calibers tooAttachment 92529Attachment 92530Attachment 92531

That 7.92 to 7.62 conversion was also done by TZ/IMI in Israel.
