A 1 owners 80+ Lifetime Collection Gun Sale starts Thursday April the 12th, @ 4.pm.
Of interest among many arms would be (#60) Inland M1A1, and (#59) QHMC 4,8 mil.
Also (#87) Military carbine (needs work).

I would certainly be having a crack at some of those early cartridges and packets, be interesting to see what the Inland paratrooper goes for if its the real deal. man I wish I lived over there........

While at gun shows or Estate sales I've always enjoyed going thru the misc/junk/parts boxes. Once I found 3 flip sights, though 1 had the flip missing and another had the blued spring nearly rusted in half. I had to take the rusted spring one apart. Upon cleaning them off is when I found a base marked with a .U. inside, under where the blue spring would cover.
Going thru the junk boxes....
Reminds me of tagging along with my Father at big Flea markets when I was much younger. I'd buy ratchets and extensions that had the little bearing missing and buy them for .25cents or so. Next time the tool vendors were around they'd fix or replace because of the lifetime guarantee. Pretty much started my tool collection that way and still have most.

I noticed on lot 210 there was a carbine hand guard and I believe a carbine sling.

Thanks for originally posting that link. I am also curious to know what they sold for...especially the QHMC. I have one that's slightly later(4,849,4xx), than the one liste.

In your original post, you said 4.8 mill, which makes sense, but information on the link gives a 400,000 Inland serial#. I'm sure they just mis-typed, but would really like to get the actual number to see how close of a sibling it is to mine.

Of course the auction was too far for me to go to, but many years ago I could have made a run for it. Born in Baraboo, and lived in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Cheers

I was/am only 1 1/2 hr+ from there, but it started at 4pm. I was on the other side of the state waiting for my Wife and MIL's plane to land as they returned from AZ. I tried but had no one else that could pick them up. That's why I waited so long to post..... was hoping for that last minute call saying... I can get them ! But didn't happen.

Fellow Member M1A1Fan from Virginia passed the sale info to me. Say's a lot about the man to me.

Ha, Sounds like you gave it your best shot to get there. Just not meant to be. Very nice for someone to have given you that heads-up. That one picture in the link really left me wanting more, as those very late Quality Hardwares are something to behold.

Read somewhere that many of those last few thousand QH's never left the states, and were in pristine condition.

Itt's hard to tell from the 1 picture because of the mag pouch. But I believe it may be a I cut stock. If so......... Is it a QHMC Big Wheel CC stamp ?
You ( or at least in my case) don't seem to see those very often.

Hopefully we'll hear from someone that was there. I was home by 8 pm, but add the driving time......... It just wasn't gonna happen.

Hoping a collector was able to look at them. Link was passed on to me by another collector and I asked if it was o.k. to pass it along. I'm all for road trips, but MI on short notice with one picture each was a little much. Have traveled long distances in search of wood stocked weapons, but I have a 3 pictures minimum. Really enjoy road trips and auctions though I prefer those in the middle of nowhere involving lmuddy fields and a guy on the back of a pickup truck with a bull horn.

When I was a new, senior carbine collectors including a certain egg gatherer and chicken wrangler passed on a link to me resulting in my first original carbine. Hoping if they were original, they ended up where they belong.
