    1911 Adoption THE Docuemnt!

Hey guys, been doing some data mining for my research website and came across this document.

You should all know it well. The date is when Colt's Automatic pistol was adopted as the standard service side arm for the US military. Currently found hundreds of pages on the program as well as the Savage Pistol tests.

Thought this one was too good not to share. You've all read "about" the adoption.

Well here is the document from the Office of Chief of Ordnance announcing it to Colt.

And yes that is the same Thompson that invented the SMG.

    Enjoy!

That's cool in a really ultimate way.

So, has anybody been collecting the original screwdrivers?

I figured that meant the little L-shaped ones that were in the 1912 squad cleaning kit.
Somebody collects such things. I sold a nearly complete one of these kits for $520 a few weeks ago.

Would love to see pictures of a "complete kit."

I've got number 23635, which would have been in that original batch. Sadly, I had to have it refinished so it would at least look like a gun again. Previous owner had used a grinder on the slide for some reason...
