His performance in FMJ has to be one of the best improvised movie performances of all time.
    RIP Gunny

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Beside his moves he was a regular on the shooting episodes on the outdoor channel. Always fun to watch. Even withoutb a "reach a round".

Had the pleasure of meeting the Gunny at the National Gun Day show in Louisville a few years ago where he was sitting at a table with his grandsons signing autographs, he asked me what I wanted written on my autographed photo and I said "Get the f___ off my obstacle"which was one of his catch phrases commonly used around my workplace. He looked at me with a WTF is that about gaze and then one of his grandsons leaned into his ear and said "Grandpa, Full Metal Jacket" he chuckled and modified the phrase to Get off my obstacle" A real gentleman! RIP
