Another day, another great haul of WW2 relics to add to the collection. And this lot was recovered with no digging at all! The detector stayed in the boot! Some really unusual finds as well Everything shown in my blog below.....

Best I got is I didn't throw the soup cans in the trash......... I put them in the Recycle bin, so the Wife would be happy.

Thanks for sharing this, I've really enjoyed it. Reminds me of the younger days finding 7-8 Confederate bullets in middle Tennessee with my Father on property that his brother (my Uncle) was the caretaker of. Story was at one time a Southern unit camped and trained there for the better part of a year. Most if not all were the hollow cavity, the best we could tell... some with some rings, some without. I recall one of the hollow ones had what looked to have a stamping of a number or letter in it. My Brother has them in his possession or I hope he still does. These were pulled out of a sandy hillside not far from a cave we were told was used for a Officers HQ. I never remember us trying to measure them. We had no metal detectors and just shoveled into a screened shaker type box.

I've upgraded (Xmas present from kids) to a little bit better metal detector now days, that I wish we'd had back then. I need a pin pointer to speed things up when I do get a hit, maybe someday.
I do have cousins that have US Army brass they found from a confrontation between the US Army and coal miners in West Virginia on Blair Mtn.... in the early 1920's.
