    Question about S&k mounts

So I am looking at taking one of my milsurps hunting, so that means my mosin or my No4.
Here is what I have gathered the mosin has to be done as a scout rifle because I don't what to drill either of them. But the enfield I can do as a traditional scope mount, but i'd have to remove the rear flip sight and this is where most of the questions i have come from. Forgive me if this is a stupid question but would I have to resight the iron sights if I used the S&K mount?

The sight will be correct after replacement providing you use the same parts.

You can't use the iron sights with an S&K or any of the other bases that use the rear sight axis pin holes to fix. Think about buying a Fulton's scope base with the Picatinny rail. S&K mounts are a waste of time.

I've had an S&K mount on my 03AForgery a little over four years, and it has been everything I hoped it would be. I can return the rifle back to it's original configuration if I would so choose, and I really like that aspect of it. I've put numerous rounds down range with that rifle, and the S&K mount has performed flawlessly.

Yah I had looked at their mount before but I have a few problems with their mount. It's pretty expensive and I can't figure out how to order from their website.

I tried the S&K mount on one of my No4's, (mainly for load development)
If set up correctly is solid and holds zero - the positive.
Has little latitude for setting up scope with correct eye relief, even with a older weaver that has the turrets "set forward" - basically scope sits too far back and risks giving the shooter the proverbial "Weatherby eyebrow". Also sets scope a little to high for my liking - the negatives.
Moved onto a Fulton mount later, when i put together my L42 style No4 .7.62 conversion - (whilst i wait for decent quality bracket and pads) a vastly superior no drill mount to the S&K in my opinion
Have also got a Armalon mount, which seems to me to be copy of the Fulton mount (use it for accuracy testing when working on my various No4 projects) again i would consider it to be superior mount to the S&K

Have had excellent results with my S&K Mount, No4 Mk2 rifle. Thousands of rounds literally. Doesn't move, change point of aim.

He's asking if later when he replaces his sights, will they require re-zeroing, and if he uses the same sights and parts, they should be the same...not can he use them with the mount...

Just to give credit where due, the Fulton and Armalon are both copies of the S&K in that the latter was the first to use that method of attachment combined with a Weaver rail.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

Much changes, much remains the same.

Well, if you were willing to drill two holes on your receiver ring, you could have one of these mounts. It's reported to be very solid and also allows you to keep and use your rear sight.

I'd started a thread about it a few months back. Ultimately I've given up on this particular mount idea for my #4 because I cannot find a gunsmith in my area with the cajones to do the drilling and tapping.
