    Parts Help

I was thinking it is a M1 Garand Follower and Slide Assembly, but looking for conformation because I saw the M14icon had a similar part. The second item...well I have no clue

Yes, an M1 follower. The M14icon has no such part. The second pile of stuff is the cleaning kit handle from an SKS or AK. All goes together with the short rod to form a handle for cleaning...stored in the solid butt of the weapon.

Like browningautorifleicon says, that's an M1 follower and there's no part similar in an M-14. Or an M1Aicon.
Exploded drawings for both rifles are here. An M1A being the same internally as a semi-auto M-14. http://stevespages.com/springfield.html
