Drawings for rings (both high n low) mounts

Good luck with the venture. I'm presuming you're going for a fairly limited scale of production (as I do with all but the No32 brackets), for the restoration market. The scarcity of Model 1918 scopes limits sales much beyond that, unless there is a similar scope that looks the part for people wanting to build a replica. In fact (just thinking aloud here) but the Mod '18 is a plagiarised Hensoldt Light, so I wonder if they would work? Don't know off hand if the tube diameter is the same or just close, though......

they are separate sorry to say i had the prices broken down as some people only need mounts or rings,
so a complete set would be $1160 very expensive i know.
i only sent the drawing out to quote to 3 places and only 2 have returned the quote .
so i have none other to compare against

the price is for the rings only sorry the rear base cost the most due to the amount you have to machine

id ont know the scope you are talking about but the tube dia for the rings are 0.875" if that helps

Hello. The Model 1918 scope was a modified German Hensoldt 'Light' scope. During WW1 captured specimens were very well thought of by the British & it was worked on a little & became the Model 1918; the scope used on the No3 (T) as well as the later Lithgow heavy barrelled snipers. For this reason I was just speculating whether the Hensoldt scope might fit in the rings you're having made so as to permit collectors to complete a replica No1 Mk3* (H) T at a reasonable price - which might also help your sales a little. Hensoldt 'Lights' aren't common, but they crop up. I am very privileged to have managed to find an original example of each of the two mount types for my collection, over the years, or I'd be knocking your door down!

I originally had intended to order a set of each mount just to have them as spare parts but at $ 1160 I won't need one just laying around and waiting for a rifle/scope to ever surface - sorry.

AussieSuperDad, I think you'd better hop over to S.E. Asia and find a nice little machine shop there who will do your project at a reasonable price. Choose the right one and you should be able to make them happy and your customers. You might even use one shop for the bases and another for the rings...
